The General Education requirements for graduates of Â黨ÐÇ¿Õmv are as follows:
AA, AS, and ABA Degrees
- One Course in English Composition; a second course in English Composition or one course in Communication
- 1 course in MathematicsÌý
- 2 courses in Natural Sciences (from at least two academic disciplines; all LMC science courses have the required laboratory experience)
- 2 courses in Social Sciences (from at least two academic disciplines)
- 2 courses in Humanities/Fine Arts (from at least two academic disciplines, excluding studio and performance classes)
AGS Degrees
- English and Communication (2 courses required):ÌýÌý
- 1 course in English CompositionÌý
- 1 course in English Composition OR CommunicationÌý
- 1 course in MathematicsÌýÌý
- 1 course in Natural SciencesÌýÌý
- 1 course in Social SciencesÌýÌý
- 1 course in Humanities/Fine ArtsÌý
AAS DegreesÌý
Students must complete a minimum of five courses from the five areas listed below, with no more than two courses from any area, totaling at least 15 credit hours.
- English or Communication
- MathematicsÌý
- Natural SciencesÌý
- Social Sciences
- Humanities/Fine ArtsÌý
Courses taken to fulfill General Education requirements must be at the 100 level and above.Ìý
* General Education requirements for Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees vary by program. Certain programs, particularly Health-related and Transfer-oriented AAS degrees, may require general education coursework beyond 15-credit hours to align with programmatic goals and professional standards. Students should consult the current college catalog for detailed program-specific requirements.
Any course taken for Honors credit are also accepted.
