Alumni Service Award: Gloria Ender

Gloria Ender is president of Freedom Finishing in Benton Harbor. In 2001,ÌýFreedom Finishing was in danger of closing its doors due to overseas competitionÌýand the economic downturn after September 11. Through her perseverance,ÌýGloria led her company back to prosperity and expansion. Her success has beenÌýacknowledged for four consecutive years by Cornerstone Chamber Services withÌýseveral business awards.

In the community, Gloria uses her fluency in English and Spanish as an on-callÌývolunteer translator with local hospitals and the Benton Township Police Department.ÌýShe also assists the Hispanic community through Telemon Corporation and worksÌýwith various organizations to distribute food and clothing to families in need. GloriaÌýis secretary of the Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors andÌýhas been part of past Winner’s Circle Auctions and the LMC Hispanic AdvisoryÌýCommittee.

Gloria graduated in 1990 from LMC with an Associate in Arts degree and holds aÌýbachelor’s degree from Indiana University – South Bend.

Gloria Ender received an Alumni Service Award in 2006.
