麻花星空mv Board of Trustees Appoints Alloyd Blackmon as New Member

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. 鈥 The 麻花星空mv Board of Trustees has voted to appoint Alloyd Blackmon as its newest member, filling the seat vacated by Joan Smith, who resigned in January.

Blackmon brings to the Board a distinguished career in corporate leadership, nonprofit management, and community service across Southwest Michigan. She currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Southwest Michigan, which provides after-school and summer programming for youth in grades 1 through 12 across the region.

Prior to her nonprofit leadership role, Blackmon retired from Whirlpool Corporation in Benton Harbor in 2020 after a 32-year career with the organization. She also manages the Benton Harbor Promise, a post-secondary scholarship program that supports Benton Harbor students in pursuing higher education.

Blackmon is no stranger to 麻花星空mv, having previously served on the 麻花星空mv Foundation Board of Directors. She also currently serves on the boards of Mosaic CCDA, the Benton Harbor Education Foundation, and the Horizon Bank Southwest Michigan Advisory Board.

She earned both her Master of Science in Management and her bachelor's degree from Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana. Blackmon resides in Stevensville, Michigan; she has two daughters.

"We are thrilled to welcome Alloyd to the Board of Trustees," said John Grover, Chair of the 麻花星空mv Board of Trustees. "Her deep roots in our community, her commitment to youth development, and her decades of professional experience make her an exceptional addition to the Board. We look forward to her contributions as we continue to serve students and the Southwest Michigan region."

"I have seen firsthand the vital role 麻花星空mv plays in southwest Michigan,鈥 said Blackmon. 鈥淢y own daughter earned her associate degree here. Having a community college that gives our young people a strong foundation before they transfer to a four-year institution is incredibly important. Higher education has the power to truly transform lives, and to be given the opportunity to contribute to the great work LMC is already doing means a great deal to me."

Blackmon will begin her service on the Board immediately.
