Â黨ÐÇ¿Õmv Names Dr. LaToya Mason as Provost

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – Â黨ÐÇ¿Õmv is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. LaToya Mason as Provost. Dr. Mason brings more than 13 years of progressive leadership experience in higher education administration to the role, having most recently served as Dean of Health Sciences Education and Interim Provost at the College.

Dr. Mason has been a cornerstone of Â黨ÐÇ¿Õmv since 2013, building a distinguished record of academic innovation, program development, and institutional advancement. As Dean of Health Sciences Education, she provided strategic and operational oversight of nine academic programs, secured millions in grant funding, and led multiple programs to maximum accreditation status including the Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Medical Assisting, and Radiologic Technology programs.

"Dr. Mason exemplifies the kind of transformational leadership that Â黨ÐÇ¿Õmv needs to move forward," said Dr. Ken Flowers, President of Â黨ÐÇ¿Õmv. "Her deep commitment to student success and academic excellence makes her ideally suited to serve our college community in this capacity."

Among her most notable accomplishments, Dr. Mason secured a $600,000 grant to expand Health Science program offerings, leading to the development of a Physical Therapist Assistant program and lab at the College's South Haven campus. She also partnered with Siena Heights University on a $1 million State of Michigan grant to fund BSN education, resulting in 35 new registered nurses entering the regional healthcare workforce. Dr. Mason has also created successful apprenticeship pathways in healthcare through partnerships with MiWorks and Corewell Health South.

Dr. Mason holds a Ph.D. in Education from Capella University, a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management, and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Phoenix. She is a Michigan Community College Association Fellow (Class of 2024), a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education, and an active contributor to numerous college and community committees.
