The Machine Tool Technology program provides basicÌýand advanced machining skills. Class time is spentÌýin the classroom as well as working in the lab onÌýtraditional metal cutting machinery and computer-numerically-controlled (CNC) machines. If you haveÌýprevious machining experience from a vocational highÌýschool program or industrial experience, you mayÌýqualify for advanced standing. Career opportunitiesÌýinclude CNC operator, CNC programmer, machineÌýbuilder, machinist, and tool and die maker.
Upon completion of the listed Machine ToolÌýTechnology certificate requirements, you willÌýbe eligible for a Certificate of Achievement. TheÌýcertificate allows you to enter the job market withÌýbasic, entry-level skills needed to be effective in theÌýworkforce. Credit earned can be applied toward yourÌýassociate degree.
Employment for machinists and tool and die makers is expected to remain stable.
