The discipline of Sociology is concerned with theÌýsocial and cultural life of humans. Sociologists studyÌýthe organization, functions, and problems of humanÌýsocieties and groups. The dynamics of humanÌýrelationships are of primary interest along with theÌýanalysis of culture, social systems, socialization,Ìýsocial classes, poverty, minorities and majorities,Ìýpopulation, social institutions and social change.
Occupations in sociology/social work usually requireÌýa bachelor’s or master’s degree. The SociologyÌýdiscipline at Â黨ÐÇ¿Õmv provides youÌýwith the first two years of a bachelor’s program.ÌýYou should work with your advisor to check withÌýfour-year colleges and universities regardingÌýspecific requirements. There is a 60-credit degreeÌýrequirement needed for graduation.
