Clarence Beckwith Distinguished Alumni Award: Gyl Kasewurm
Dr. Gyl Kasewurm owns and operates one of the top audiology practicesin the country. Professional Hearing Services, Ltd. is renowned for being a leader inservice and technology.A national presenter and speaker on successful business, marketing and customerservice practices, Gyl developed the world’s first virtual hearing center in 2003.
After attending LMC, she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from AndrewsUniversity, a Master of Arts from Western Michigan University and an Au.D. fromCentral Michigan University.
Her professional success has been widely recognized. The American Academy ofAudiology honored her with its 2007 Distinguished Achievement Award. She is alsoactive in numerous professional and community organizations. In 2005, GovernorJennifer Granholm appointed her to the first State Audiology Licensing Board. A
member of the American Academy of Audiology Foundation board and the LakelandHealth Foundation board, she is a former member of the LMC Foundation board.She has also participated in international and domestic missions to benefit childrenwith hearing loss.
Gyl Kasewurm received the Clarence Beckwith Distinguished Alumni Award in 2008.
