2021 Winner’s Circle Auction postponed, may be reimagined
Â黨ÐÇ¿Õmv Foundation announced today that the 2021 Winner’s Circle Benefit Auction, originally scheduled for March 6 is being postponed and may be reimagined in its 31st year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.ÌýÌý
“We are workingÌýwithÌýtheÌýLMCÌýFoundation Board of Directors to develop alternative plans,â€ÌýLMC Foundation Executive DirectorÌýDoug SchafferÌýsaid. “Although it is not possible to have a safe, in-person gathering on our traditional date,Ìýthe scholarship dollars raised atÌýthisÌýeventÌýareÌýtoo importantÌýforÌýourÌýstudentsÌýtoÌýsimplyÌýcancel.â€Ìý
The annualÌýgala eventÌýheld in Mendel Center’s Grand Upton HallÌýraises more than $100,000 annuallyÌýfor the Winner's Circle Endowed ScholarshipÌýthrough ticket sales, a raffle, live and silent auctions and individual and corporate contributions.ÌýSince 1988, the Winner’s CircleÌýBenefit Auction has raised more than $5 million for student scholarships.Ìý
“It is because ofÌýtheÌýgenerosityÌýof our sponsors and communityÌýthatÌýso manyÌýstudents have an opportunityÌýatÌýa college education,â€ÌýLMC Foundation Board President Gloria EnderÌýsaid. “We are currently looking atÌýall our optionsÌýto presentÌýfuture opportunitiesÌýin a safe and fun environment for all.
