Phlebotomy technicians are employed in variousÌýhealth care settings such as hospitals, acute careÌýcenters, medical groups, and outpatient clinics. TheÌýPhlebotomy Technician program provides hands-onÌýclassroom experience that will prepare students forÌýemployment in a laboratory setting. Upon successfulÌýcompletion of the course, students are eligible to takeÌýthe National Healthcareers Association certificationÌýexamination.
The Phlebotomy Technician certificate program requires 16 credit hours.ÌýAll students in the Phlebotomy Technician programÌýare required to pass a criminal background check and drug screen prior to clinical placement.
Students must also complete a physical exam and provide proof of the following:
