�黨�ǿ�mv is increasing safety precautions in response to new state directives to slow the spread of COVID-19.

A union strike at a pajama factory generates plenty of steam heat in the toe-tapping, comedic love story, "The Pajama Game," a virtual staged production from �黨�ǿ�mv's Visual & Performing Arts Department.��Originally planned as the Spring 2020 musical, cast and crew have recorded the musical, which will be streamed at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22. ��

Each year, �黨�ǿ�mv invites the community to come together for a breakfast celebration honoring Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year’s pandemic prevents an in-person gathering. Still, it won’t keep the community from uniting to advance his legacy. ��LMC’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration is changing to a virtual, community-wide effort scheduled for the week of Jan. 18-22, 2021.����

�黨�ǿ�mv is celebrating��its��annual International Week celebration remotely this year.��The public��is invited��to enjoy art and performances from around the world, learn international recipes and hear how the pandemic has��impacted��the people of Sierra Leone.����

�黨�ǿ�mv has invited nearly 40 colleges and universities from throughout the Midwest to participate in its Virtual College Fair.��This free event, which takes place from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, is designed to answer questions for high school students and their parents, adult students who are thinking of attending or returning to college, and students interested in transferring to another institution.��

Be patient and take a deep breath. That was the mantra repeated at the beginning and end of a post-election panel held online by �黨�ǿ�mv on Wednesday. While the country waited to see who would be president for the next four years, the panel provided analysis of election results and discussed the implications for the country’s political landscape heading into 2021.

One newcomer will join two incumbents on �黨�ǿ�mv’s Board of Trustees. After a bevy of absentee ballots pushed the official count to Wednesday, the top three vote-getters among the six candidates were newcomer Vicki Burghdoff, along with incumbents Debra Johnson and Mary Jo Tomasini.

Six candidates are in the hunt for three spots on the �黨�ǿ�mv Board of Trustees. The top three vote-getters on Nov. 3 will be elected to the board between three incumbents and three challengers.

On Oct. 1, the U.S. Department of Education released the 2021–22��Free Application for Federal Student Aid��(FAFSA®) form.

As the Mendel Center plans for a future when it can open its doors wide and welcome the community back, it is launching the Creating Bridges Challenge Campaign. Thanks to a $50,000 challenge matching grant from The Frederick S. Upton Foundation, contributions to the Mendel Center can have double the impact as it looks to bridge the financial gap created by the pandemic.
